Research at Kolb Lab

The Kolb Lab coordinates a research program involving basic, pre-clinical and clinical research in relation to interstitial lung disease (ILD). Our major research focus is on understanding the biological mechanisms of lung injury, repair and fibrosis with emphasis on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).

Research themes:

• Investigate the role cytokines and growth factors have in the progression of IPF
• Investigate the role of the extracellular matrix in pulmonary fibrosis
• Understand the effects of mechanical stretch in pulmonary fibrosis
